The house, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, sits on a sleepy, shaded street within view of the Gulf harbor. The oldest section of the house (c. 1845) retains numerous significant architectural details. The newer part of the house (c. 1866) reflects a typical Greek Revival floor plan, but with Victorian embellishments. The scuttles, verandas, shuttered windows and numerous doors show the Bahamian influence and are features well suited to the tropics.

Today, ceiling fans whirl above rooms filled with antique furnishings, and congenial guests enjoy the cool porches and lush garden in its present role as one of the island's most unique inns. It's a perfect place for those who appreciate the graciousness of another time.

A full and varied gourmet breakfast is served daily throughout the year, and can be enjoyed either in the dining area or the tropical gardens.
