1859 SAN ANTONIO was a time of trail rides, fast tempers, and quick triggers--and it was the year the Menger Hotel ushered in a new era of sophistication to the Texas frontier.
More than 142 years of refinements have created a masterpiece of traditional elegance and atmosphere. Now a modern
314-room hotel. The Menger remains faithful to the integrity behind its authentically restored 19th Century section.
W.A. Menger opened the hotel with this advertisement: "He flatters himself that his establishment will be found by the traveling public generally as fully equal to the want of all. He spares no pains to have his Table and all the accommodations of his house, at least equal to any hotel in the West."
The Menger remains true to its origins.
